Affordability is dependent upon one's income. It's priced to accommodate wealthier clients.
Some of the gym equipment did not function fully with the technology, but I had a great cardio workout nonetheless. The gym attendants were very polite and helpful (much appreciated)! The massage was Swedish and ok (put my lotion on); however, I did not like that the therapist took both of her hands off me 4 different times to get in and out of noisy cupboards for supplies. Bad flow/uncomfortable mentally.
One of the best spas I've been at. Staff accommodating and nice. Women's spa and lounge are large and we'll appointed with plenty of supplies, herbal teas and healthy snacks. The facial products were natural, aromatic and felt great. We'll be back.
They did a great job ensuring blood-sugar levels and hydration remain adequate by having nuts, fruit, herbal teas and water. (hint- order food when you arrive for specified delivery time).
I would not recommend this spa for wedding hair and makeup services. The overall customer service was terrible and added much unnecessary stress to the wedding planning process. I received at least two bad news *emails* rather than phone calls from the spa throughout the couple months. The first one was about the inability to offer food for purchase on the morning of the wedding as originally promised. The second one was after my hair and makeup specialist quit a month before my wedding, after I had already had two hair trials and a makeup trial. Instead of an apologetic phone call and rectification, I received another email.
I am very grateful for the Colonial Williamsburg experiences and services.
Wife and I had a wonder time here. Wish we could have spent another day here being pampered!
I went 2 years ago at 8-months pregnant and gave it 3 stars. I heard it was under new management and went back again through Groupon. I had a better experience this time around.
Customer service and communication training are strongly recommended. I also never received a refund for my wasted trials as promised nor returned phone calls after my complaints. From my experience, this Spa is all about taking your money irregardless of whether you are pleased with the services. Illusions by Marcus ended up saving the day and was tremendously better to work with than The Spa of Colonial Williamsburg. Illusions did a beautiful job with my hair and makeup, especially in comparison to The Spa. This is the only negative review I have left for any of my wedding vendors as I am not one to complain, but this spa is disgraceful.
IMHO, the showers are too small and rain-shower head is the only option apart from the wheelchair-accessible shower, which is also way too small.
My experience has been wonderful. The pedicures, which began as a treat for a successful cancer exam has transformed into a treatment for our relaxation and physical and mental health. The staff is well trained, helpful, and have pleasant personalities. Everything is done for the comfort and support of the clients. There fitness facilities for both men and women and swimming pools and steam/sauna facilities. There are selections of beauty aids with aromas which to the clients well-being
