Location is close to Busch Gardens, and has stores near by for any miscellaneous needs while on your trip. Front desk is friendly and accommodating. Hotel is generally quiet. Morning breakfast is unlimited and quite filling, better than a traditional continental breakfast. Not the most glamorous hotel, but all around a solid deal for the price.
Fantastic stay, wonderful hospitality, and very friendly and helpful stay. Why only 4 stars you ask? Simply due to the need for updates. It's obvious there have been cosmetic changes attempted and the lobby area is well maintained, but there are dated and forgotten aspects of the rooms themselves. The shower was patched with some form of putty, holes left empty in the walls for amenities once viable (tissue boxes, modem ports, etc), and just lots of missing items in the restrooms in general. Aesthetics, though, we're the only thing lacking; we really enjoyed our stay. Worth exploring.
Beds were nicely furnished. The mattresses had a plastic zip close cover to I imagine help with keeping the mattresses clean. The water was great temperature and had ample pressure. Floors were clean. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Plenty of towels to start with and shampoo, bar soap, and conditioner. Two complaints, we were awoken one morning to housekeeping and they informed us that they had it down we were scheduled to check out when we still had two days left. There were also a couple spiders in the room but, better a couple spiders than roaches or other pests.
Second, under amenities on Google, Groupon and Yelp it states free continental breakfast. Which is also wrong as front desk guy tried to charge us $15 per person per day for breakfast.
OK, let's get this clear. On Google reviews for this place under amenities it says kitchen in every room. That is WRONG. A mini fridge and a microwave is NOT a kitchen.
The rooms are decently sized. The bathrooms are small, though. It doesn't have a sink. For soaps, they only provide bar soap for the body, not a shower gel. The hotel in itself smells weird. The breakfast is decent. The employees are very kind. The location is very good. It is very close to Water Country USA and Busch Gardens. It is also across the street from Target and Kohl's which is also a plus.
Now, if you want a cheap and decently clean room that is close to the attractions, this is your place. If you want a 4 star or higher hotel, you're in the wrong place.
